Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger praised the performance of Theo Walcott after scoring two goals against Coventry City in the event the Capital One Cup, Wednesday (26/9). However, he said that England winger still needs to be patient to be able to transition into an attacker.
Previously, Theo Walcott had said that he was willing to extend the contract with the Gunners as long as he made an attacker. Walcott wanted to be a legend like Thierry Henry.
However, Wenger said that now is not the right time to make Walcott as a bomber. Therefore, Gunner has a number of great strikers like Lukas Podolski, Gervinho, and Olivier Giroud.
"Walcott is a great scorer in front of goal.'s Incredible., However, is currently at the forefront of our komptisi very tight and all the players played very well," Wenger said as quoted by The Sun.
"There comes a time for Walcott playing fatherly ahead. Now he just needs to be patient," he added.
After slaughtering Coventry 6-1 and advanced to the fourth round of the Capital One Cup, on 29 September Arsenal will face tough opponents in the Premier League, the Chelsea. Five days later they will host Olympiakos in the Champions League stage.
